Taking time to take care of yourself now that you’re a mom can be SO challenging.
Isn’t it so easy for this to be the first thing that flies out the window when you become a mamma? You’re exhausted because now you have a NON-STOP eater that won’t sleep AT ALL at night. Your body is different because well, you just gave birth to a human being. If you’re nursing, then you most likely feel like your body is not your own and you’re trying to navigate feeding your child and all the frustration that can go with that. If you’re working, then you have a million other things to think about, not to mention grocery shopping, cleaning, play dates, clipping coupons, focusing on your marriage, cooking- THE LIST GOES ON. It’s really hard to remember that taking time for yourself in the ways that you did pre-baby is just as important, maybe MORE important, than it was before you had kids.
I realize you might think I’m crazy and you might be wondering why I’m even mentioning this. But I really think that it can make a huge difference in ones morale. Taking even a small amount of time out of your day to care for yourself can be essential to your self-esteem as a mom.
We love being moms, but sometimes it’s fun and totally necessary to just feel like a WOMAN.
In turn, I think it can help us to be BETTER moms and refresh us for the day ahead, or relax us after a long one. For me, it’s as simple as washing my face and cleansing my skin at the end of each day. I love taking care of my skin and making sure that it’s cleansed, refreshed, and makeup free when I go to bed. I’m no esthetician but I DO use and believe in all natural, organic products and produce on my skin. Yep, you read that right!
Simple ingredients that you can find in your pantry and refrigerator is what I use on my face.
I try not to use anything that has chemicals in it, aside from a gentle moisturizer that I use at the end of the regime. Here are a few of my standby’s that I use. These are recipes for washing your face AND facial masks that I’ve found to be super amazing on my skin.
