Free Train Rides Every Sunday!

If you are looking for something to do on Sunday that is sure to delight your children (and is practically FREE), you have to check out Maricopa Live Steamers’ Adobe Western Railroad in North Phoenix. Every Sunday from Labor Day to Memorial Day this privately-run Train Club (the largest of its kind in the country, one member informed us) offers free rides to the public from noon to 4:30 PM.

They have over 14 miles of train tracks and the rides last about 30-40 minutes. Each rider must be able to sit in a moving vehicle on their own (so I don’t know if I would recommend it for any children under two years old). They have several different trains that run at the same time, plus other model trains and play areas for the kids. They do ask for donations to keep the park open and operating for the public.

The Railroad is located on 43rd Avenue across the street from Wet ‘N Wild Waterpark, just south of Pinnacle Peak Road in North Phoenix.
