I can hardly believe it, but Easton is 11 months old now, which means that I’m in the middle of planning his FIRST BIRTHDAY PARTY. How fun! In my planning I’ve been gathering some great local resources for putting together kids’ parties, so I thought I’d share…

 ABC Cake Decorating Supplies

If you don’t know about ABC Cake Decorating Supplies yet, you do now! This is a local gem at 28th Street and Indian School. There are so many wonderful finds here that can help you plan your next celebration. Here’s just a taste:

  • Cookie cutters in EVERY shape
  • Sprinkles, edible glitter, and food coloring in every color imaginable
  • Cellophane bags. Different sizes, shapes, colors, designs. These are great for take home treats or favors.
  • Specialty bakeware, including everything to make the trendiest treat…the cake pop!
  • And the list goes on…

SAS Fabrics by the Pound

I will be making several stops by SAS Fabrics next week to gather some things for Easton’s party. This place is a gold mine for all kinds of fabric, sewing, and craft items at less than half the price of other craft stores…and, yes, some things are actually sold by the pound! Some of the things you’ll find in my cart would be:
  • Fabric! Anything from unique cotton prints to sequined lace to tablecloth material…
  • Ribbon galore. WAAAAAAY cheaper than anywhere else.
  • And…random decorative notions…such as ruffled elastic, metallic beads, and patches.

Smart & Final

Smart and Final is a quick and less expensive stop for all types of food service items. Here you can find decorative plastic plates, serving dishes, utensils and cups. They also have a good selection of tablecloths and napkins!
