I visited AZ on the Rocks for the first time a couple years back. As a first timer, you sit through a 10 min video which shows you the basics of knot tying, and safety stuff, and then off you go. The staff member who initially helped me was super helpful. She saw my fear (yes – I’m a little afraid of heights) and was very patient with me. After a short little lesson I was ready to go. For beginners, AZ on the Rocks offers a friendly environment that makes learning comfortable. For those already addicted to climbing, it’s a great place to challenge yourself on interesting routes while surrounded by others who share your passion.

you know i have a son who loves that place and will climb anything tall enough…vending machines, the poles of the swings at the park, the fence around the tennis courts…he needs some open climbing time!!!
